Manjeet Singh won gold in 800 meters race, silver to Johnson
India won the gold medal on Tuesday, 10th day of Asian Games 2018 Manjit Singh won this Golden Men's 800-meter race for India. The silver medal of the match was also received by India's Jenson Johnson.
Earlier, India also has won three silver and one bronze medal on Tuesday. In the archery, the women and men's compound team won the silver medal. PV Sindhu got the silver medal not as not able to overcome the challenge put forward by Tai Ying. Rajat Chauhan, Aman Saini and Abhishek Verma's men's archery team won the silver medal in compound team event on Tuesday. Both Indian Men and Women’s compound Archery Team are to be satisfied with Silver Medal. In the final, after attaining equal points of 229-229, the Indian team lost to South Korea in the shoot-off and had to satisfy the silver medal. Due to this defeat, the Indian team could not save its gold medal that also won the same event in the Asian Games held in Incheon held in 2014.
On the other hand, women's team of Smile Kearar, Madhumita Kumari and Jyothi Surekha Vennam got the silver medal in the women's event. The Indian team lost to South Korea in the title match. Women and men squash team wins
Indian women squash team on Tuesday won the match against Thailand in the qualification of the team event. In the pool-B match, Indian women team defeated Thailand by 3-0. Earlier, on Monday, the Indian women team started it’s campaign victory defeating Iran by 3-0. On the other hand, the men squash team continued their magnificent performance and won the third match. India beat Qatar by 2-1 in their third match. India has had the potential of going into this semifinal with them. Saurabh Ghoshal, Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu, Ramesh Tandon, Mahesh Mangaonkar's team beat Indonesia by 3-0 in their first match.
Sania and Pavitra lost in Boxing quarter-finals
World champion silver medalist, Indian woman boxer Sonia Lathar, unfortunately, faced defeat in the quarter-finals on Tuesday. Soun Hwa Jow of North Korea defeated Sonia 5-0 in the 57-kg quarter-finals in the semifinals to make it to the semi-finals. Jow started dominating Sonia from the beginning of the match.
