My Prayer Box Of Faith Really Works
I have a problem shared by many people in this world. When I start to say my prayers, I leave out so many because my memory is shorter than my small fingernail.
If I make a list of these people, I cannot read it later, because I have macular degeneration. The center of my eye does not work at all; I cannot see anything really small. When I write my name on a paper, I must make a guess where to put the “dot” on the “I”. My computer is the only method of reading which allows me to see these letters. I can change the font to a very large setting. For this reason, I could not make a list of my prayers, and read them to God during my prayers.
I have discovered a method that works. I have created a Prayer Box. This box is totally sealed except for two small openings in each end. I actually write the prayer to God; I do not try to dot an “I” nor cross a “t”. I place the prayer in an opening in the box, and let go. That is what we are supposed to do; let go, and let God. The box will hold many prayers, and they never have to be taken from the box. God knows when I write the prayer that I cannot read it afterward. God knows the prayer comes from my heart. God knows that I believe in the power of prayer. I keep the box close to me all the time, with a stack of pre-cut papers for writing prayers. I never look at the prayer after I write it down on the paper. It would be to no avail because it is incomprehensible to me. Because it is addressed to God, however, He knows the prayer, and accepts it as very legible script.
My prayer box was designed to glorify God and His mercy. I took my description from Matthew, and designed my box with beautiful birds. The bird is but one of God’s creatures with exceptional faith. This bird will push her baby from the nest at 100 feet in the air, with no worries about what will happen to the baby. That is faith stronger than man’s faith! The birds do not worry, neither do they toil, God takes care of them. Never do the birds worry about food; it is always provided. The birds have many enemies, but God always protects these delicate creatures.
These magnificent creatures provide us with flowers, trees, and beauty. They show us by illustration how important it is to maintain that marvelous faith in God our Father.
I no longer try to take notes as people ask me for prayers; I simply reach for a paper, and write the prayer on it immediately. I place it in the opening, and let go. I do not have a need to try and remember who is in the box. When they cross my mind, I write the prayer. When I let go, I let God.
Going through my social media now is easily done without forgetting anything. My papers are close at hand, the beautiful prayer box awaits my fervent prayers. I go through my social media writing the prayers as I scroll. When I let the paper go, I have faith that God has heard my prayers.
Do I repeat prayers? Of course I do. (1 Thessalonians 5; 16-18 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.)
Does God hear my prayers? Of Course He does! ( 1 John 5: 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us.)
Does God answer my prayers? Absolutely and emphatically Yes! (Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.)
The prayer box might not be the answer for everyone, but I have discovered that it works well for me. My handwriting is illegible to me (or anyone else), but God knows that what is on the paper is in my heart.
